Think 50 Calories an Hour for a Slimmer FigureWhether you're a closet dieter or have been sharing diet tips with your friends for years, there's one sure-fire method to help you lose weight that you may not have considered: limiting your diet to 1200 calories each day can help you lose a considerable amount of weight quickly. There are approximately 3000 calories in every pound of fat on your body. The average person is encouraged to eat about 2000 calories per day. By reducing your caloric intake to only 1200 calories per day, it will take you approximately four days to lose one pound of fat if you keep the same exercise routine. However, if you require a rapid weight loss, then combine a 1200 calorie diet with one hour of exercise to double the results. Depending on the type of exercise that you choose to do, it will take you between 2-5 days to lose that additional pound. Keep in mind that you will be able to still eat a broad range of foods even if you are on a 1200 calorie diet. As long as you allow yourself to snack, you should not feel hungry. For example, if you have a large meal, keep your caloric in-take to about 500 calories (that's about the amount of calories in a hamburger and small salad.) Then, set aside 50-calorie snacks, such as a handful of crackers, a piece of fruit or a cup of yogurt. Graze on one of these low-calorie snacks often to assure that you do not become hungry. As long as you keep the caloric in-take at mealtime relatively low, you will have no problems staying satisfied on a restricted calorie diet. Think of 1200 calories a day as the magic number that will help you achieve your weight-loss goals more rapidly than you may have imagined. |
