Drop the pounds and loose the weight with Arthritis diets to keep your bones healthy.

Unfortunately, overweight is even unhealthier when combined with arthritis. Although loosing a few pounds is the most advisable in those cases, not all diets can cause weight-loss and improve arthritis at the same time; so some details have to taken into account in order to lose those pounds without compromising the bones´ health.

According to many experts calculations, if we take a person s body weight and multiply itarthritis diets by three to six times, the result we may be equal to the force exerted across this person's knees while walking. In case of gaining weight, the average numbers indicate that every extra pound gained multiplies four times this stress on the knees. Keeping this in mind, the relation between overweight and arthritis is obviously dangerous, to the point of causing the breakdown of cartilage in some cases. However, studies have also shown the opposite effect: losing 11 pounds in obesity cases may cut the risk of suffering from arthritis of the knee by nearly 50 percent.

So does the fat-loss diet vary in case of having to deal with arthritis at all? First of all, evidence indicates diet can influence some types of arthritis. Although in every particular case the type of diet must be settle down taking the type of arthritis into a count, in most average cases it is necessary not only to reduce the diet calorie-content in order to lose weight, but also to build stronger bones by increasing the calcium intake. That can be achieved by regularly consuming milk, yogurt, salmon, and broccoli, which are also usually advised for healthy diets in general. Calcium supplements can also be incorporated. Adequate amounts of starch -bread, rice, beans, pasta, and potatoes- must be also taken in order to provide energy to the body; as well as fiber, which adds bulk and helps with the process of elimination.

On the other hand, diets claiming fast results should generally be avoided, since they cause fat loss by cutting not only calories, but also essential nutrients. Unlike what many of those diets indicate, well-balanced nutritious meals are very important, especially for those suffering from arthritis.
