Do you want to lose weight and burn the calories? Read this article and you'll know all about it.

The popular functions of metabolism has been so exploited by diet products that the idea of loosing weight just by burning calories, without cutting them is deeply-routed in the mind of many dieters. However, the effort is worthy in order to avoid frustration.

First of all, metabolism and calorie intake have different important roles on weight. Many popular theories state that thin persons have fast metabolism, while overweight ones have a slow one, which includes the fact of taking for granted that the final solution for overweight consist just of accelerating metabolism. However, the explanation is not so simple in most cases: as it was said at first, the daily calorie intake must not be passed by, since the relation between calories consumed and calories burned is ultimately what defines weight.

When more calories than the ones the body needs are taken, weight is gained. So metabolism is just a combination of chemical processes which converts these calories into energy, depending on every person 's needs. How are those needs enhanced? By physical exercise. Does this augmentation result into weight lose when combined with a higher calorie intake? Not at all. A low calorie intake must work along with metabolism, otherwise the increased calories burned are balanced by the new ones coming.

Keeping all this in mind, some simple things can be done in order to burn more daily calories. For example, 30 minutes of daily walking are usually very useful. As muscle tissue is also an important fact in calorie burning, strength training exercises are also highly recommended, in order to build more muscle mass. However, apart from specific training, there are some lifestyles that are more likely to aid in weight loss. For example, an active person that usually takes the stairs, or maybe the ones that do not use the car for absolutely everything, and even those who contribute in some housework have better expectative than the sedentary ones that just do the opposite.

To sum up, food intake defines the entering calories, while physical activity is what assures their burn, which benefits the role of metabolism, a process that determines the energy -or quantities of calories burned- needs. Achieving the right harmony between these facts results in beneficing the relation between calorie intake and calories burned, which ultimately defines weight.
