Change Your Diet Habits and Lose More WeightYour diet habits can play a major role in whether or not you are able to lose the weight you want, which will help you feel good about yourself. You may even have diet habits that you don't even recognize. For example, you may eat when you are bored or you may have a wine cooler after a hard day. These are habits that could be secretly sabotaging your diet. Why? Well, if your problem is that you eat when you are bored, this could hurt you because the more you eat -- even if it is healthy food -- the more calories you will take in and the less weight you will lose. If your problem is a wine cooler after a hard day, drinks containing alcohol often have many calories in just one bottle and help to slow the rate in which you lose weight. To discover any 'hidden' diet habits that you may have, record everything you eat and drink each day (even if it is just water), as well as when you consumed it and why (even if the answer is only "because I was thirsty"). Also jot down the events of the day and how you felt overall. At the end of the week, examine this food journal to see if you can discover any patterns that may be sabotaging your diet. Once you learn where your downfalls lie, you can then develop a plan to combat them and possibly learn some new -- healthy -- habits. |
