Info on Diets |
Preparing Your South Beach Diet MenuYour South Beach diet menu should consist of meals that are high in protein and lower in carbohydrates, (whole grain carbohydrates being best). Finding menu items that are both appealing and that are okay when on the South Beach diet should be easy, since you are still allowed to eat many tasteful things. If you are on the first week or two of the diet, your menu should actually consist of no carbohydrates. At this point you should still be cutting them completely out of your diet When you are planning your South Beach diet menu, print out a Glycemic Index List of foods. This list will be able to tell you what is best to use in your meals and what is not. Foods that are high on this list should be avoided in your meals, while food that are low on this list should be what you eat when you do eat carbohydrates. Lastly, when preparing your South Beach diet menu, remember that the point of these types of diets is to limit your carbohydrates. Just because a food is low on the Glycemic index does not mean that you should eat as much of it as you want. You should still give yourself a certain number of carbohydrate grams that you can consume each day and stick with it. |
