Online Customized E-Diets - the Wave of the Future

E-diets are a product of the age of the internet. The primary source of e-diets is http://www.ediets.com Ediets.com matches up users with today's most popular diets and tailors a diet program especially for your body type and weight loss goals. Some of the ways the diet is made to meet your needs and wants as a dieter are weekly meal plans that include your favorite foods and customized grocery lists you can download and print. E diets from ediets.com are not free. The first thing you'll see when you visit their homepage is a free personal weight loss profile. It's free to answer the questions that build your profile and view the profile itself, but it's not free to access the diet plan they've created to suit your profile.

Here are the steps you'll follow when seeking one of the many diets available on ediets.com. First, you'll fill out an online form that asks you for the basics-age, height, sex, etc. Next, you'll be asked about your weight loss goals, how much and in what amount of time. This page is followed by a list of advertisements billed as "special offers just for you." Some are relevant to weight loss; others, like an ad for Circuit City, are not. Then you'll be presented with your body mass index. The BMI tells you whether or not you are in the "normal" weight for someone your height, age, and sex. Another helpful tidbit you get for free is what your daily caloric intake should be in order to lose the amount of weight you want in the timeframe you're shooting for.

At this point, you'll have to enter your credit card info and begin paying in order to see your customized plan. Ediets.com charges $3.99 week, which is lower than both Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig. There is a wide variety of plans to choose from: Atkins, Slim Fast, and South Beach to name a few. The site also offers some specialty diets for people with certain health needs, such as a low-sodium plan. Also, once you've joined the website, you have access to the online "Recipe Club," where fellow e-dieters swap recipes and tips.
