Elliptical Trainers Provide A Thorough Workout

One of the newest types of workout equipment available is the elliptical trainer. Its amazing popularity, rivaling that of the treadmill, is due to its effectiveness and ease of use. Elliptical trainers are also easier on the body than most other types of equipment, making them more comfortable for almost everyone.

Elliptical trainers can be an effective part of your weight loss program if used regularly. Not only do they increase your calorie burn, they tone your muscles to give you a fit, toned appearance. Because most elliptical machines incorporate both the legs (with a combination of slight stepping and back and forth motion) and arms (with a motion similar to using cross county ski poles), you get both an upper and lower body workout.

Ellipticals also provide a great cardiovascular workout that will improve your overall trainerhealth. But one of the greatest advantages of elliptical trainers is the smoothness of the motion. Because you don't ever lift your feet and bring them back down with an impact, there is no wear and tear on the knee or hip joints. For this reason, they are ideal for those suffering from joint problems. Physical therapists often use these trainers to improve strength and range of motion.

If you would like to incorporate an elliptical trainer into your diet and exercise program, do some research and find the one that best suits your needs. They range in price anywhere from $250 to $3,500, but an excellent machine with adjustable tension and incline can be found for a reasonable $500-$600. Used at least three times a week, you can increase your weight loss and tone your body quickly with an elliptical trainer.
