  • all kinds of green leafy vegetables (cauliflower, lettuce and so on).

Typical foods to eat for low carb diet include also some fruits, but only those less sweet. The same is with vegetables other than green leaf ones. The kinds of food you can't have is virtually everything containing carbohydrates - for example pasta, rice, bread or alcohol.

They low carb diet is supported by several scientific researches and the fact that it is probably much more like the Neolithic diet. Then, the people didn't eat so many carbohydrates, relying on meat supported by some vegetables or fruits. It is argued that our digestive system is prepared for exactly that kind of diet and the high carbohydrate intake may cause serious health problems. What is more, if you eat all foods to eat for low carb diet, it is 100% sure that your hunger will quickly diminish despite the fact that you will eat all you like.

The opponents of this theory point out that it is contrary to the common sense and the high fat intake might be dangerous to our lives by increasing the cholesterol level well above the norms. Another possible problem is the fact that foods to eat for low carb diet can become a part of dangerous eating habits when the diet will be over. If you start to use more carbohydrates while following the low carb diet, your weight might quickly spiral out of control.

The bottom line is that low carb diet is a good and working one despite it seems to be against the common sense. However, it is not a wonder diet and you have to pay a lot of attention while following it - in case of this diet the border between healthy and risky is very, very thin.
