Green Tea Diet - Antioxidants do it!The green tea diet is a relatively new fad - having been around since about the late 1990s. As a tenant of the green tea diet, dieters must consume portions of green tea each day. There is no solid agreement as to how much green tea must be consumed each day, but dieters generally will get a feel for how much green tea they can introduce into their systems at a time. The first benefit of the green tea diet comes because green tea is a liquid that fills the stomach up. As such, those who drink the tea will feel fuller than those that don't drink tea. In terms of feeling full, there is no proof that drinking tea will make you feel more full than drinking water, but the tea has other added benefits that water does not have. One of the primary added benefits of green tea as it related to weight loss is the caffeine. Additionally, green tea has antioxidants that can help the body stay free from toxins and other impurities. Toxins and other impurities can cause the body to function more slowly than normal and it can cause the organs to function at a less efficient pace. Thus, those individuals that are trying to lose weight may fund success by taking on the green tea diet. Keep in mind that the best green tea is not the kind that comes in cans and is processed, but rather, is the kind that you brew yourself using hot water and a tea bag. |
