Hamburgers: You Need to Say NoThere are few foods that are more widely popular than a hamburger, and it's not hard There are several things you can try. For one, if you like white meat and can make a clean switch, do it. Skinless chicken and turkey are far healthier than any red meat, as is any type of fish. These types of meat have far less fat and calories, and so if a plain switch is possible for you, do it. If not, here are a few tips to help you trim off the fat and calories where you can. Get the leanest beef available. 95% lean might be more expensive than 75% lean, but it is much healthier for you and worth the extra pennies. Also, look at some alternative meats. Turkey burgers are fairly common now and much healthier than normal hamburger, and comes in patties and ground meat. If you tend to barbeque or use hamburger for tacos, then use the turkey. The taste and texture won't have you missing a beat! If you simply can not do without hamburger, watch the trimmings. Stay away from mayo and high fat condiments, and eat it in lesser amounts. Your body will thank you later when the scale shows the results. |
