How to Lose Weight Fast: The Best Methods

There are tons of advertising on every type of media about how you can lose so much weight in just a week or a month. Many of these are fad diets, and may indeed work in the short term, but not in the long term. Others advertise a seemingly magic diet pill. In reality, the only way for healthy and permanent weight loss is to accept that it will take place over time with a change of diet and exercise. That being said, there are certain things you can do to speed up to the process safely.

One of the most important things you can do is to know what your body needs to function, and make sure you're getting all of it. This does not mean just popping a vitamin every morning (though that helps), but learning how to feed your body so it is working most effectively. For most people, this means three big things:

  • Increase water
  • Increase fiber
  • Increase fruit/vegetable consumption

Doing just these three things can cause a strong shift in weight loss. Fiber helps clean the system, as does water. Fruits and vegetables tend to take up space in the stomach while providing less calories and no fat. Water is always good for the body, and the average person can drink as many as a thousand liquid calories a day-so cutting those out with water is worth over two pounds in one week right there!

Also, if you don't already eat breakfast, start. A bowl of cheerios or a bowl of oatmeal is good, because they are low calories, good for you, and the morning meal starts your metabolism-meaning you will burn a lot more calories in the morning or with a work out if you eat a morning meal or snack. The other thing you can do is increase your aerobic exercise. Aerobics and exercise bikes burn a lot of calories in a short time-but don't starve yourself or overdo it, otherwise the negative health effects will outbalance all the good that comes from fast weight loss.
