  • Plan your meals in advance. You can stick to healthy meals more easily if healthy foods are already in your freezer. This includes bringing along healthy snacks to work or school. It'll stop you from heading to the vending machine midday.
  • Increase your intake of fruits and veggies. Not only will your body thank you for the improved nutrition, you'll also lose weight by getting full on these very low-calorie foods.
  • Make the switch from white rice and breads to whole grain. Whole grain foods contain a lot of fiber, and fiber is your best friend. It keeps you feeling fuller longer.
  • Be conscious of your portion sizes. A lot of times we eat everything on our plate just because it's there, not because we're still hungry. Start with a smaller portion; it's probably all you need. If you get up and go out into the kitchen for seconds, you'll know it's because you're actually still hungry.
  • Start your meals with a bowl of salad. Salads, as long as you ditch the fatty dressing and the bacon bits, are very low in calories. If you fill up on salad beforehand, you'll eat less of the pasta and meats.
  • Don't forget to drink enough water throughout the day. It will keep you hydrated and allow your body to cleanse itself. Plus, this simple food plan is the perfect alternative to drinking sugary sodas all day long.
