Looking for the Right Weight Loss SystemThere are many weight loss systems out there for individuals to choose some. What's the difference between a diet and a weight loss system? That's a hard question since any lines between the two often blur. Usually weight loss system is a diet that is not only determined by a specific number of calories, but also by what foods to eat and when and how to eat them. One of the most famous weight loss systems may be Slim Fast, with their shakes in place of meals, followed by one meal. Further complicating the process is how some diets seem more like systems than like just diets. For example, the Mediterranean Diet has its own food pyramid, and the base of that pyramid is not food at all, but an active life style. This permeates everything else and is absolutely necessary to burn the large number of carbs that a Mediterranean Diet contains. Most diets recommend an exercise program, which is always a good idea and usually the extra "system" part of the diet. The best diets that encourage healthy and permanent weight loss are ones that have exercise in addition to a change in diet plans. Weight loss systems might also be named such because there is a very specific schedule. Instead of changing habits and then losing weight, there might be an expected result, like 2.5 lbs a week, or something along those lines. Weight loss systems might also indicate a steady shift in eating habits that change as certain goals are achieved. The Atkins Diet, for example, starts with virtually no carbs and then shifts towards more carbs as a balance is desired as opposed to weight loss. Sometimes weight loss system just means diet, other times there is an actual system in place and you should study the whole program to make sure it is a weight loss system you can stick with. |
